Space

Research in the space sector and space technology has a major implication for Denmark’s security, climate targets, and our business community. Therefore, the Ministry of Higher Education and Science takes part in a number of committees, programmes, and partnerships in the space sector, and it has a long-term strategy for the development of the Danish space sector.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Science is responsible for the following:

  • Regulation of Danish activities in outer space, including approvals, control, and registration of launch of space objects.
  • Participation in international cooperation on activities in outer space (ESA, EU, UN, etc.).
  • Coordination and cooperation between Danish authorities with areas of responsibility relating to space (in Interministerial Space Committee).
